The Second Wedding Blanket

Last week-end we attended our second wedding of the year. This one was very beautiful, on the beach and then dinner at a little cabin resort beachfront property, outside under the stars and lanterns strung through the trees. The couple is a cousin marrying for the second time to a lovely woman who has not been married before. We are so happy for them both.

Of course, weddings around here mean making blankets. This one is a simple feather and fan blanket with a four stitch garter border on either side. The yarn is Bernat Worsted Ombre, and I used just under three skeins of it to make a blanket approx. 4 feet by 3.5 feet.

A gentle wash and an air-dry in the sunshine, and it was wrapped up in tissue and taken to the wedding. I hope it keeps their laps warm on the couch this winter.
