Friday Quote

“To take the wheel of a clattering 1975 International Harvester tractor, pulling a spidery eight-row planter through an Iowa cornfield during the first week of May, is like trying to steer a boat through a softly rolling sea of dark chocolate.”

-Michael Pollen “The Omnivore’s Dilemma”

This book has many details I want to address in a post when I am done reading it, and many, many quotes that make you gasp or groan. But this quote? It is just a delightful sentence that made me say, “Nice!”

  1. On my nightstand to read this spring. I’ll be curious to read your take on it. And I agree…what a sentence!

  2. This is a book I plan to read. Saw it on a table at Border’s recently. Thanks for your nice comments on my blog. The time has flown by with my daughter–I was looking at a photo album today from when she was 6 and 7 years old. What a delight! What fun! Wish I could re-live those years!! Enjoy every minute of your years–the children are precious, precious, precious!

Welcome! I always like to hear what people think of a post, it often leads to a great discussion! I am now responding to comments and questions right in the comments themselves, so other people can follow the conversation.
