Zoom Away

I treated myself to a zoom lens for my Canon Rebel after Christmas. Picked it up for half price at the London Drugs Boxing Day sales. I’ve been wanting a zoom lens for a while, so was thrilled to get it. Mr. Kate and I took it along on our traditional New Year’s Day walk and even though it was very cold in the winter wind, I had lots of fun trying it out.

The above is with the zoom lens and below is with my regular lens.

The series below shows how much detail I can pick up:

Looking forward to many more opportunities to play with the new lens!

  1. Wow! What stunning pics with amazing detail.Great purchase! Wishing you and your family a happy and peaceful 2017.

    • Thanks Roz, I’ve been wanting one almost since I got the camera, so I’m very excited to get to use it and see what it can do!

  2. This makes me so happy!! I can obviously see the benefits of the zoom but what stands out to me even more is just the elevated quality that your new lens affords. The color and sharpness are amazing. I asked for and received a new lens for Xmas as well…thought about a zoom but instead went with a wide angle. It’s something I’ve never owned even with my film camera but my new-found love with night photography demanded it to step up to the next level. I’m super happy with it!

    • The lens guy said I should definitely think about a wide angle next. Can’t wait to hear/see what you do with it!
