Feature Photo: The Dunes

oregon dunes

The Oregon Dunes are a magical place. We only spent an hour or so on the beach, but it is an experience that will stay with us. You’d think being from an island not far from the Dunes relatively speaking, we wouldn’t be so fascinated. But our beaches, even on the west coast of the island, are nothing like the ever-shifting dunes. With the wind whipping the sand across the beach and the surf pounding at the shore, the beach reminded me of the English seaside, where you go and hunker down in the wind just to enjoy a day at the shore. This though, was something out of a novel. Shifting sands, bright sun, empty spaces. It was an experience that impacted all our senses.

    • Oopsie daisy’s!

  5. Interestingly, I’ve never made it here. We go to the coast as often as we can but rarely do we go as far south as where the dunes are. Thanks for posting this…it seems that I need to change that… Such a great photo!
