Regrouping

What a month it has been! We moved offices at work – leaving one company and transferring to another, along with physically moving 20+ years of files, etc. A huge undertaking that had to be kept confidential until 5 days before we moved. It has been a month with more editing than I’ve seen at one time in a long time, which is good but of course not the best timing.

The garden didn’t get put away much more than it was three weeks ago, and the rains have begun in earnest. Once again I have not yet planted garlic.

I don’t seem to find myself with a lot of energy to be creative, so there hasn’t been much knitting. Plus I hurt my elbow at the beginning of the summer, and it has taken this long for it to feel ok to knit for more than 5 minutes at a time. But I’m getting back into it, and am ready to knit socks for gifts so better get moving.

I’m reading ridiculous quantities of chick lit and romance novels, but that doesn’t stop me apparently from downloading more onto my Kobo.

Yesterday a Canadian soldier was killed while standing on duty at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in Ottawa. I’m saddened both by the incident and by the scare mongering that happens after such an incident.

My son is now 4.5 inches taller than me. His voice has changed. It is an amazing, awe-inspiring thing to watch a boy become a man. Not sure I’m ready for this part of the journey.

I hope to write here more often now that the big move is over. I miss typing my thoughts. I miss taking pictures. I miss my calm. Time to reclaim it.

    • I think I’m going to put it on a sign at my desk.

Welcome! I always like to hear what people think of a post, it often leads to a great discussion! I am now responding to comments and questions right in the comments themselves, so other people can follow the conversation.
