I know better than to announce spring has arrived, even if the calendar says it is so. We have had snow in April, so I don’t assume that all will be warmth and sunshine after March 20. However, the garden is waking up, and it is one of my favourite times of year to wander the backyard and see what is happening. Things change so quickly! This was the garden last week.
New chives
Rhubarb
parsley
garlic chives
The promise of new growth – so invigorating!
I did not realize that parsley is a perennial. This is the first year I plan to plant it and am now doubly excited.

It’s a biannual, but reseeds so prolifically that we always have it in the garden. And yes, it winters quite well here so we often have it right through the year.

SUCH a joy to see these signs of new growth. Spring in the UK is decidedly earlier than last year by at least six weeks! Ros

Wow! Ours is about a week early, according to my garden journal and the blooming forsythia.
