Last week-end was one of those lovely March days, where the sun was shining and the air was fresh. We knew the perfect way to take advantage of it.
While Mr. Kate and I did the groceries, Bushboy got the backyard ready.
Hot dogs roasted over the fire, perfect. We sat around the fire for a couple of hours, chatting, burning things and soaking in the gorgeous day.
Family time is so precious, something that needs to be placed high on the priority list. It is what keeps us a cohesive unit, keeps us talking and involved in each other’s daily lives. We guard it carefully around here, and take full advantage of any reason to indulge in it.
Wonderful!! It looks like you’ve got a wonderful, cohesive family going on! Those hot dogs look good!!

You are very wise, Kate. Family is more important than anything else, and I always enjoy seeing how you all make the most of your time together by camping, hiking, etc. By the way – you’re lucky you can have fires in your backyard. Kamloops banned them several years ago. It’s nice to be in a place where we can have them again.

Yes, we are one of the few communities left even on the island that can still have backyard fires.
