Season Crafting

Melissa commented the other day that she had made the decision not to stress about crafting for gifts this year. I’m starting to see the wisdom in that idea, but as usual I have already committed myself to at least some gifts. I have cut back though, as between work and house and school, time just isn’t on my side.

Also cutting in to my time this year was another craft fair. I decided I had enough extra bits and pieces around and so did a craft fair at the end of November. It was a small fair but I was pleased with my results, certainly made some money and cleared out some extra knitting. I’ve also sold a few extra pieces by consignment.

So the holiday gift list is two pairs of socks, two pairs of fingerless mitts, and maybe a guitar strap. Wish me luck!

  1. I’m glad your craft fair was successful! Your Christmas knitting list is way longer than mine. I hope you have already started some of those projects!

    • Just one pair of socks and some play blocks to go!

  2. I LOVE the look of your craft table. You make wonderful things, it all looks so cozy :) Good luck (cowl) on your Christmas knitting! I don’t how how you do it, I’m still workin’ on a t-rex for GS! And (some) people keep asking me for more!

    • Aren’t people wonderful? ;-)

      • hee hee, yes, they are! I don’t mind, in fact, I’m flattered!!

  3. congrats on the craft fair! your table looks so snuggly, i’d totally take a nap on it! :)
i didn’t mention the guilt that comes along with not making any christmas presents this year… i’m trying to ignore it, but it’s still there, a little.
i hope your gift list is coming along in a timely fashion! the number of socks you knit for christmas gifts every year always amazes me!

    • The number of socks is actually higher, as I’ve also done one custom order this month. I owe her another pair still, but she agreed it would have to wait until after Christmas!
I’m glad you’re mostly ignoring the guilt. We need to do what’s right for us and our families, too!
