A Special Knit

This project was started back in June, but took forever to knit and then get in the mail (late, sigh). So now that it has been received I can post it here!

This pattern is called A Scarf for Beth. The yarn is Cherry Tree Hill Orenburg Lace, an 80% mohair 20% silk laceweight yarn that is discontinued. The colours are a muted grey, purple and green – just so happens some of the recipient’s favourite colours!

I added some beading at the beginning and end, to give it a little weight and extra glamour. It is what I consider jacket length, perfect for a night out or a dressy office outfit.

The gift was for a 40th birthday, for a very special friend, so it had to be special. The yarn drove me crazy (silk slippery yet mohair halo sticky) but I’m pleased with the final product, and she is of course worth it.

Welcome! I always like to hear what people think of a post, it often leads to a great discussion! I am now responding to comments and questions right in the comments themselves, so other people can follow the conversation.
