Winter Playtime

For the rest of the country winter playtime on a sunny day likely means outdoor ice skating, skiing, snow shoeing or other general snow/cold weather play. For those of us fortunate enough to live on the milder west coast, winter playtime means what playtime almost always means – beach time.

Whether it’s Chika exploring all the wonderful beachy smells or Bushboy taking advantage of the wide open space, the beach inspires play.

Bushboy being, well, a boy.

You can sign up for outdoor camps, and they are fun and worthwhile. You can do organized sports or lessons and they give your child confidence and coordination. But nothing, absolutely nothing, is better than just getting outside. It requires no money, just a commitment of time and interest. And the rewards? You’ll see.

I'll take every moment of this I can get.
