Well, the Black Sweater is no more. We had to doctor the pattern a lot to size it up, and although the length, chest and arms were great, the garter stitch body was too narrow for Bushboy’s liking. We attempted a fix with a side panel, but it just wasn’t right. So as spring is soon upon us, we came to the agreement that the sweater would be put off until the fall when we could be sure he would get a whole season out of it. We may go with parts of this pattern again (the arms and chest were really cool) or we may find a new pattern completely over the summer. Luckily he was ok with that … mostly because he wants me to get on with the baby knitting! Which I have commenced, and that is all I’ll say about that :)

Sorry to hear that, but good for you, perhaps I should say, good for BB for agreeing to let it sit for a bit! Sometimes a project needs to sit awhile. Fresh ideas will surely sprout come Fall :) I’d really like to see the cool arms & chest you’ve completed.

Oh no! All those black stitches for nothing. I think you should knit a small black armband and wear it instead. :-)

I’m trying to figure out whether to say I’m sorry (cuz so much effort wasted) or congratulations (cuz baby knitting is so much better than black sweater knitting!). You take whichever one feels right to you! ;)
