Leap Year Snow

February 29th greeted us with some wonderful white snow! About 10 cm (4 inches) all told, and a lot of beauty. It lasted a couple of days, although the cold north wind blew and made it all crusty over night on Thursday, after it rained in the afternoon on Wednesday. But never mind, that’s the way snow goes on the west coast. It was certainly a beautiful sight to wake up to!

There are a few little piles in the shadowed corners of driveways, but otherwise it’s just a memory already.

  1. Hmmm…beautiful in December or January yes, but the end of February? I am afraid I must disagree. Enough is enough. :-)

  2. Beautiful. I love when you share your pretty pics, even the snowy ones :)

  3. Ah, so that’s what winter looks like? I about forgot! We’ve gotten some snow here of course, but almost every storm has been followed by warming and rain and it melts very quickly. When we were up in BC last weekend, it was shocking to see deep snow!

  4. i’m with rach on this one – we’ve had such a mild winter i haven’t seen snow in *ages*…. and when we did it was gone in a couple days.
thanks for sharing your snow with me, i’ve missed having a normal winter.
