Eyes Wide Open

If there is one thing we can teach our son, it’s to face life with his eyes wide open. See what is around you, both the good and the not-so-good. See the amazing, the wonderful, the fantastic in everyday things. See the wonder in an empty shell, the beauty of nature, the joy of movement. Be aware of the hardships, the storms, and the negative side of things. But don’t close your eyes to them. Keep your eyes wide open and face them, head on. With your eyes wide open, little things are less likely to pass by un-noticed. The little things, they matter. A touch of beauty in an average day – this can change your attitude. Eyes wide open.

  1. Yes!!

  2. Oh, you are so right, Kate! It truly IS the little things that matter. Life is made up of a whole bunch of little things & we do need to pause and take notice. (I really love this pic, am using it as my new desktop pic).

  3. That’s why I love spending time with children. Many have not lost that sense of wonder yet and they notice things. Being with them helps me remember to notice things as well.

  4. What a wonderful lesson for not only BB, but for us all.

  5. beautiful words kate. it’s an important reminder for us all.

Welcome! I always like to hear what people think of a post, it often leads to a great discussion! I am now responding to comments and questions right in the comments themselves, so other people can follow the conversation.
