Our summer ended as abruptly as it began. One week it was hot and sunny, and the next it was cloudy, cool and rainy. I was hoping to ease into fall, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. As I start into yet another wet week-end, I am thinking a little longingly still of our beautiful two months of summer. Floating in the water, playing badminton, throwing the frisbees … ah, summer.

Yes, it went by all too fast. It is a miserable day today so I’m going to hunker down and make some pies and applesauce from our sad apple crop. Our neighbour’s bee colony collapsed last year and we now realize that they were the little guys our apple tree relied on. We’re hoping to get some mason bees in for next spring.

You are lucky…I think we may have had all of 3 or 4 weeks of summer. At least that’s what it feels like to me. Fall was officially here before August was even over!

I feel your pain, friend. Tho’ I love the cooler days, as long as it doesn’t get too far below zero!

And now…finally…we see some summer in San Francisco. Unfortunately, no floating in the water. It is still too cold for floating. Hopefully you’ll have a dry and pretty autumn day soon.
