Summer camping gear, Ralph River 2010.

Our summer ended as abruptly as it began. One week it was hot and sunny, and the next it was cloudy, cool and rainy. I was hoping to ease into fall, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. As I start into yet another wet week-end, I am thinking a little longingly still of our beautiful two months of summer. Floating in the water, playing badminton, throwing the frisbees … ah, summer.

  1. Yes, it went by all too fast. It is a miserable day today so I’m going to hunker down and make some pies and applesauce from our sad apple crop. Our neighbour’s bee colony collapsed last year and we now realize that they were the little guys our apple tree relied on. We’re hoping to get some mason bees in for next spring.

  2. Yes fall is here for sure! I do belive it has set in to stay.

  3. You are lucky…I think we may have had all of 3 or 4 weeks of summer. At least that’s what it feels like to me. Fall was officially here before August was even over!

  4. I feel your pain, friend. Tho’ I love the cooler days, as long as it doesn’t get too far below zero!

  5. well i think you packed in a lot of wonderful adventures and memories into your too-short summer! you and your family are so good at getting out and enjoying where you are!

  6. And now…finally…we see some summer in San Francisco. Unfortunately, no floating in the water. It is still too cold for floating. Hopefully you’ll have a dry and pretty autumn day soon.

Welcome! I always like to hear what people think of a post, it often leads to a great discussion! I am now responding to comments and questions right in the comments themselves, so other people can follow the conversation.
