Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site is a fabulous place to spend a few hours. I wrote about it last year, but didn’t have my camera with me. This year on our little trip to Victoria at the end of the summer I made sure to remember the camera! We had great fun climbing on the old ramparts, looking in control rooms and barracks, and imagining the boots of soldiers in the parade square. It was a beautiful day, made even better by the fact that Fisgard Lighthouse was also open. That would be the new header picture.

We have forts like that around here too. A couple of our favorite family day trips include climbing the ladders and poking around the dark rooms.

Ah, so fun, a great adventure for the whole family. Thx for sharing your pics and thx, too, for the name of place where your (new) lighthouse is situated. I need to get over there . . .
