Summer Swim

Heat.
Hot air,
Burning sphere in the clear sky.
Sweat and stickiness.
Grumpy, ornery, snappish.
Must find relief.
Hot drive.
Windows open, blowing hot air.
Parked cars.
Walk across hot sand.
Don’t wait.
Dive.
Cool liquid love.
Clean strokes, swimming.
Slick, wet hair.
Refreshed.
Human again.
Saved by the lake.
