Strathcona Park

Strathcona Park is the oldest provincial park in BC, and one of the reasons we moved to this area of Vancouver Island. It is a huge park, covering over 2,458 square kilometres (949 square miles). No matter how much time we spend there, something new always finds us.

What do we do while we camp?

A little of this….

The dog does quite a lot of this….

Some of this ….

The boys definitely did a lot of this….

The second day we all did this (even the dog)….

Of course, a lot of time is spent looking at the wonders around us, and I’ll share more of that tomorrow!

  1. I think you need to come camping in MN. I don’t camp, but I’ll come and visit and hike with you.

  2. gorgeous! the color palette in these photos is making my heart swoon……

  3. It looks like a perfect place to spend 8 days. I think more and more that I need to find time to get back up to your part of the world for some more exploration (was there about 8 years ago). Your pictures are always so tempting!

  4. Beautiful. I’ll say it again, dear Kate, you are living in paradise. It’s great to see all of you enjoying the majesty of our gorgeous forests and lakes. It’s surreal, it’s so beautiful.

  5. man, it’s been awhile since i’ve been up that way – good reminder that i should! i spent several years living up at the lodge there, and i miss the beautiful wilderness being so close.

Welcome! I always like to hear what people think of a post, it often leads to a great discussion! I am now responding to comments and questions right in the comments themselves, so other people can follow the conversation.
