Another year, another round of volunteering.
Last night was our school’s first PAC meeting. I’ve already attended the first D (district) PAC meeting of the year. The good news is there were new faces and people wanting to help out. The discouraging news is that, like everyone else, we are facing a funding crisis. Our funding has been slashed by the government, and so we will have to rely on fundraising directly from families in a town where many families have people out of work. It can get disheartening at times.
But, I like to remember that we are here to help our children, and all students, to get the most out of their school years. Research shows that parent involvement is key to students’ successes, and so we are there, helping where we can, how we can.
Another year, and I’m rolling up my sleeves to get to work.
Welcome! I always like to hear what people think of a post, it often leads to a great discussion! I am now responding to comments and questions right in the comments themselves, so other people can follow the conversation.
