Plant Detectives Step Forward

OK, my mum and I know a fair number of plants between us, but this one has us stumped.

It flowers in the spring, is similar in leaf and flower to flowering currants, but the flowers hang down and are yellow, not pink or red.

It is now four years old, and as you can see is a vigorous grower! I had to cut it back quite a bit this fall.

So, any ideas?

  1. I just can’t say from these pics… but when I’m in doubt with these kinds of things I just take a clipping into the Garden Center and see if they can help me figure it out :)
